Ms. Mojica's 5th grade language arts students are delving deep into the process creating a quality research paper which includes understanding plagiarism, copyright, and paraphrasing. hAPPy Friday! This World Wildlife Federation app brings you in-depth, interactive stories of endangered animals, including giant pandas, tigers, monarch butterflies, marine turtles and polar bears. It includes printable origami directions for each animal, an interactive 3D globe, includes adventures like tiger vision and showcases unique facts about endangered animals. Learn how to stay connected to the digital learners in your household through EISD's Digital Parent Gazette. This month's topics include an adventure with an iTunes U Digital Parenting course, information on gaming addiction and how to handle distractions in this hyper-connected world. Ms. Rollins' 4th grade went on a learning adventure as they hunted down literary elements of poetry. Ms. McLaughlin began the lesson with a discussion and Ms. Husain introduced the concept of visual note-taking. Then the detective work began! Students used their iPads to take pictures of the literary elements of poetry that they found lurking inside of the many books Ms. McLaughlin hauled in from the library. Students were encouraged to use any app they had on their iPads. Most of the students chose to use Keynote, Notability, Popplet or Pages, super detective work 4th graders!
