BPE Student Council created this video to encourage our community to donate to those in need of warm clothing this winter. Use the drop off bins in your grade level areas for new or gently used hats, gloves, coats, scarves and mittens. Thank you!
Lead by our 3rd graders, our Bridge Point students extended their thanks and admiration for the men and women who have served our country today during our morning assembly. As our principal writes, It is a big deal for our students and us, so nicely protected in our daily lives, to be re-connected to the daily reality of the sacrifice and dedication of our current and former service members AND their loved ones. Each year I am proud of our students…they get it. Indeed they do.
At the end of assembly, students turned to our honored guests and sang Thank You, Soldiers written and composed by Michael & Angela Souders. There wasn't a dry eye in the crowd. May you have a safe and beautiful Veterans Day.
Ooey, gooey fun at today's morning assembly as our principal, Mr. Wirht and San Francisco 49er (more importantly, a BPE parent!) Mr. Dawson get SLIMED!
Inspired by this blog post from a teacher in Virginia, Ms. Skonieczny's class tried out a game-based learning adventure called Kahoot. In this online game-based assessment tool, students get to answer questions by using a color-coded grid on their iPads. It was a little tough to get 5 year olds to enter a 6 digit PIN, but they got it and they loved it! Way to try something new Ms. Skonieczny's class!
On the wings of Ms. Hatch's magical musical summer experiences in Africa, BPE students performed Umoja Wma Afrika this morning as our patriotic song of the week.
November's Life Skill of the month is Citizenship. What does it mean to be a good citizen? Let a few of our talented 3rd graders let you know with this video created with Do Ink, a green-screen creation tool for for the iPad.
Our iPads 2s are great tools for learning but when they don't work, you've got an iPad E M E R G E N C Y on your hands! Check out this 5th grade creation complete with environmentally-friendly "symptom" tickets. Outfitted with a siren, a padded interior and a license plate, this ambulance is ready to roll!
