At our morning assembly today, we had the great pleasure of meeting Drew Karakourtis, 20 year-old brother of Becca Grace Karakourtis who is a BP 4th grader. This morning with EISD parent, Mike McDonnell, he informed our students of the I CARE FOR RARE awareness day at the Capitol on Saturday. Drew, who has a rare progressive disease (just 350 cases nationwide), will continue his initiative to inform the public about the many rare diseases that receive relatively little or no attention, funding, research effort, pharmacological curiosity or entrepreneurial support. Drew is a courageous advocate who wishes to raise awareness of Rare Diseases and increase sensitivity as we live among those who are afflicted or affected by them. To raise awareness and support of his initiative, Bridge Pointers are encouraged to wear denim tomorrow and will be given a blue ribbon to wear home.

Third graders in Ms. Powell's and Ms. Cimino's class decided to take indoor recess to a new level today! Using GoNoodle their kids participated in a video to release endorphins and get their students' blood flowing. Nothing improves mood and cognition like getting up and moving around! Don't fret, GoNoodle also has deep breathing activities to calm down a class as well. Kitty Hi-Five!
There isn't anything like it anywhere else in the world! Bridge Point's stop-drop-and-do Science Day is a spectacular event that makes science sizzle, pop, bang, explode, bubble and whinny its way into the minds of 750 students. Take a look at this video recap of some of the amazing hands-on learning events of BPE Science Day created by Dan Nguyen, Bridge Point parent. The slideshow features two popular songs, Rather Be by Clean Bandit and Count on Me by Bruno Mars.
