![]() In recognition of the birthday of computing pioneer Admiral Grace Murray Hopper (December 9, 1906), the Hour of Code challenge was born. Its mission is to raise awareness and excitement for computer programming. With a goal of inspiring 10 million kids to code during Computer Science Education Week (December 9-15), Bridge Point decided to get pumped about coding too! The entire 4th grade took the middle school Javascript challenge and 3rd graders in Ms. Cimino and Ms. Crowley's class took the beginner challenge. Many of the 3rd graders finished all 20 challenges! Kindergartners in Ms. Skonieczny, Ms. Hester, Ms. Ward and Ms. Plevich's classes also participated in the beginner challenge with some help from 3rd grade leaders. Students challenged themselves to learn from mistakes and to persevere. Our favorite quote of the day from a Kindergartner was, "I'm a master at this!" Maybe coding isn't just for the birds after all!
